Little is known about the circumstances of Casey's passing, other than he passed away in the Moose Jaw Hospital March 11, 1968 at the age of 83 a short time before his 84th birthday (the date of which is not known).

His time served in the Canadian army earned him a plot in the Soldiers Plot at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw.
Casey survived 13 years after the amputation of his right leg, leaving a massive legacy of artifacts and paintings, and many fond memories of him, behind.
