Obituary of Larry Forbes
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry Forbes.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn (Wilkins), his daughter Tracey (Rick) Gardner and their children Ethan (Erin) and Tayler (Spencer), and his son Todd (Audra) and their children Justin, Drew (Shantel), and Bren (Marissa).
He also leaves to mourn his mother-in-law, Ethel Wilkins, sisters-in-law Vonnie Forbes and Cathy (Don) McClain, brothers-in-law Dave Gamble and Larry (Sheran) Wilkins.
Larry is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Alice (Goettler), brother Bernie, sister Patti Gamble, and granddaughter Emily Forbes. Larry was born in Mortlach, Saskatchewan on August 2, 1943. With the exception of a few years spent as Supervisor at TransCanada PipeLines - Station 9 in Herbert, Saskatchewan he lived his entire life in his cherished village of Mortlach.
Larry started his career with Trans Canada Pipeline at Station 13 in Caron, Sk in 1965 and retired with thirty-five years of service.Larry's time and passion were dedicated to two distinct areas of his life. One was his family, friends, and community. The other included his love of the outdoors including his pride and joy, his cabin on Nemeiben Lake.
Retirement does not agree with everyone, but Larry loved it.
He could fill his days hunting, fishing, volunteering, traveling and spending time with his family and many, many friends.
A Celebration of Larry's life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 1:30 pm in the Mortlach Memorial Hall. Tim Ellis will officiate.
A time of fellowship will follow.
