Melba Gertrude Molde
January 11, 1918 - August 19, 2017
Our precious mother Melba Gertrude Molde (Surtees) entered into eternity with family members by her side at Pioneer Lodge, Moose Jaw SK. on August 19 atthe age of 99 years.
Mom was born January 11, 1918 in the Greenbrier District. Out of a family of nine daughters, Mom was the last surviving sister born to Ethel and Silas Surtees.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, loving husband William, son David, daughter Shanon Maclachan, son-in-law Warren Howard and grandson Kelly Howard.
Those left to mourn are Marlene Gurney (Chuck), Lillian Howard, Faye Wallace (Doug),
Richard Molde (Beverly), Margaret Rowe (Garry), Barbara Moerkerk (Garry), Dianne Luch (Joe), Helen Molde, Deborah McDonald, Darrel Molde (Candis), Katherine Molde, Robert Maclachan; 26 Grandchildren, 66 Great-Grandchildren, and five (5) Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Mom came to the Darmody area to work for her sister Della Brown and met husband Bill of 64 years. Mom, a mother of 12 children, was a hard working farmer's wife who worked alongside her husband to make the farm a success. They farmed in the Thunder Creek area until retiring in Moose Jaw. Mom and Dad enjoyed their hobby of seeking out garage sales and shopping for antiques. Mom loved her 12 children and their families deeply and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren with her baking and candies.

A special thank you to the nursing staff on Memory Lane at Pioneer Lodge. They went above and beyond with their care and compassion to mom and our family.
A visitation will take place Friday, August 25 from 8:00 - 9:00PM. At the W. J. Jones Chapel
(106 Athabasca St. E. Moose Jaw, SK). A Celebration of Melba's Life will be held at the
W. J. Jones Chapel (106 Athabasca St. E Moose Jaw, SK) on Saturday, August 26 at 1:30PM. Della Ferguson will officiate.
Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery prior to the service. In lieu of flowers
Memorial Donations can be made in Melba's memory to the: Bethany Lutheran Church,
c/o Perry Rader, PO Box 57, Mortlach SK. S0H3E0. In living memory of Melba, a memorial tree planting will be made by JONES Funeral Home.
