Dorothy Fawcett

Dorothy Alma Fawcett (née Guy), aged 99 years of Swift Current, SK passed away on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017. Dorothy was born in Caron, SK on November 27th, 1917, the oldest child of Bert and Pearl (née Luker) Guy.

Dorothy married Percy Fawcett in 1943. Together they farmed and raised their family in the Edgehill district south of Parkbeg, then moved to Moose Jaw, SK in 1973. Dorothy stayed there until the spring of 2008 when she moved to the Manor in Herbert, and later to Swift Current nursing homes.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Percy (1988); sister, Belle Brewin (2003); and brother, Sidney Guy (2005). Dorothy is survived by her children: Teresa (Cliff) Stevenson, Gary (Bev) Fawcett, and Brenda (Lorne) Hamilton; grandchildren: Sherry (Dallas) Wall, Starla (Shawn) Wittmier,
Brad (Mel) Stevenson, Tanya Dalgarno, Wade Fawcett, Renae (Dean) Douglas, and Duane Hamilton; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was an honest, active, very independent lady with a soft, kind, generous heart and humorous, feisty nature. There are many wonderful memories left with her family. We all love you Mom (Grandma) and we will miss you.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 13th, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert St, Regina, SK S4R 2P6. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry
